Introducing...

DVH Research & Consultancy works in a network of (local) organizations and experts. DVH is specialized in policy-oriented research and consultancy. The focus is the Caribbean part of our Kingdom. DVH is a point of contact for social and socio-economic affairs. DVH stands for independence, quality, transparency and usability. DVH enjoys working for ministries, Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN), municipalities and public authorities, social partners, ROA Caribisch Nederland and other advisory bodies, knowledge institutions and executive organizations.

Contact person: dr. Peter Donker van Heel

Services: independent

DVH focuses on social affairs of Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, European Netherlands, Saba, Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten. DVH is independent, has an eye for history, the political context and the specific circumstances on the islands.

DVH conducts research (quantitative and qualitative), advises (expert based and research based), supports and develops (in law formation, policy, structure, organization, measures, processes), monitors (including information systems set-up), reviews and transfers knowledge (presentations, workshops, training, guidance and assurance). The work is carried out on location as much as possible, avoiding air travel as much as possible.

DVH works from the socio-scientific discipline, with sufficient knowledge of relevant legislation (both Dutch law and local legislation) and economics. DVH can make substantive connections in this regard. Where necessary, DVH collaborates with experts from other research and consultancy firms, universities and local experts.

Expertise: social affairs

DVH is available to carry out projects in the social and socio-economic field, specifically the labor market, the connection between the labor market and professional education, social security, quality of work (employment conditions, working environment, labor relations and labor content) and human resources policy. DVH is able to balance the interests of the stakeholders: government, employers, employees, executive organizations and educational institutions.

Approach: transfer of knowledge

DVH transfers knowledge and experience, both during the projects and afterwards. In Aruba, Peter Donker van Heel gave presentations at a large national convention on the modernization of the labor market and social security policies (photo 1). In Bonaire, Peter Donker van Heel provided a data bootcamp for organizations that depend on labor market and educational information (see photo 2). DVH has extensive experience in counseling and education. DVH is proficient in action research, that is to say, research on social systems while working on social change. Personal contacts are a prerequisite for getting things done. Working on the islands is therefore a must and is done with great enthusiasm.
